Fishin' Reels slot by Pragmatic Play is uncannily like a couple of other slots with the strange fishing theme we've had before from other developers. Take for example Fishin Frenzy Megaways slot from Blueprint Gaming then throw in iSoftBet's Fishin’ For Gold slot and you get an idea of the game structure, then WMS' Reel ‘Em In – Big Bass Bucks slot will have got you ready for the feature if you ever played that game. Here we have rather silly jaunty music with transparent reels over a seabed and naturally inane cartoon fish as our main symbols, so no shocks as regards visuals here. Can this game be a profitable lure for our bankroll or will it be a case of the one that got away?
On the reels...
In spite of the daft appearance we have decent line pays here due to the fact that Fishin' Reels slot has only 10 pay lines. Symbols are single and the 5-of-a-kinds pay 100x for the Goldfish, 50x Puffer, 40x Lobster, 30x Starfish, 20x Flippers and four card suits pay 15 or 10x each for a full line. Swordfish Scatters appear on all reels and Wilds can land only on the middle 3 reels and that's pretty much it for the base game.
You will choose one of two free games modes for 3, 4 or 5 Swordfish and 10, 12 or 15 spins.
Reel 'em in - fish will overlaid with values of 0.5 to 250x bet and the Fisherman on reel 5 will collect them if he lands. You may also see symbols overlaid with extra spins and for each of these he reels in, you get +2 spins. Win often, so say the the rules.
The Big Catch - in this round, you need to land 3 scatters for a mini fishing game and +2 spins. There are 8 fish with random 0.5 to 250x values. The round pays normal wins but once you catch all 8 fish, no further scatters will appear. Win big, we are told.
In both bonus types, the wins are limited to 1200x bet whereupon the bonus ends. Wow.
Fishin' Reels slot offers us the usual decent Pragmatic RTP of 96.50% but little else. The game is supposedly their maximum volatility yet with such a small top prize I fail to see how that works! The base game is dreary and rather ridiculous to observe although you get the odd big line pay. The features hardly set your pulse racing either and are mostly disappointing. This is one slot you will certainly hope gets away, permanently...
