Flaming Fox slot summary
Flaming Fox slot is one which I cannot fathom how the developer came up with the title, seemingly two random words beginning with the same letter. It's of course possible this could be the precursor to a series, maybe 'Leering Lemur' or 'Moaning Meerkat' next? Anyway, we have seen our friend the Fox before in games, most notably Nextgen's Foxin' Wins and Foxin' Wins Again or Playtech's Fortunes of The Fox which are decent so there's some optimism here. Red Tiger's fox has a Mandarin long moustache and sits in an Oriental meditation room which is only to be expected as this developer is heavily orientated (no pun intended!) towards Chinese themes. Is he going to use his cunning to help us, or will our money simply go up in flames too?
On the reels...
The reels are transparent because we need to keep an eye on the Fox who sits behind them. There are 5 reels of 3 rows each with stacked icons and 10 paying lines which pay both ways, right-to-left too. 10 coins are paid for each spin and Wilds will pay 50x bet for a full 5-of-a-kind with the other picture symbols being Swords, Scroll, Headband, Cat and Feet at 20, 10, 8, 6 and 4x bet for a full line respectively. Five card values are present awarding 3 down to 1x but it's flames we need to see and the Flaming Fox will happily provide them when he's in the mood.
Flaming reels
On any spin the Fox may burst into flames behind the reels and add something beneficial for us. He smashes adjacent tiles on the grid in a pattern which then reveals some new symbols spinning behind them which will either be high-value picture ones or Wilds or a combination of both. He may even act again after this and smash some tiles a second time to reveal sticky Wilds, but in all cases the reels spin again and hopefully they will match the newly revealed high symbols and/or Wilds. Nothing is guaranteed though.
Fiery free spins
You will see Flaming Fox scatters on all reels and 3 or more in view will trigger a random number of free spins from 5 to 18, the more scatters the higher this number is likely to be, although for 3 scatters 8-10 is quite common. During these spins the Fox will do his fiery tricks and break some tiles but these will stay broken for the duration and if he breaks more these will add to the existing ones and make the 'under' reels of high symbols and Wilds bigger. During the free spins these under reels can also show scatters which will add extra spins if appearing. A good start to this feature and plenty of Wilds showing underneath means the maximum possible win is 3,333x bet!
Our View...
Flaming Fox slot is certainly different to anything I've seen before, a rare original concept. The graphics and effects are very good and the random Flaming Fox during the base game is quite regular which it needs to be as the win frequency isn't that high. The RTP is 95.06% which is a little lower than usual for Red Tiger slots and (again no pun intended) Flaming Fox is quite volatile so you may have to wait for those bigger wins. You'll definitely appreciate the free spins bonus and it does occur relatively frequently and in all fairness seldom has a poor outcome. All in all very good - Flaming Fox is certainly one fire I'll not be wanting to extinguish...
