Fruit Snap slot review
Fruit Snap slot by Red Tiger brings us back to their grid format with retro symbols, synthetic music and a soundtrack of crisp sounds for this rapid fire game. Red Tiger have made several grid slots previously with differing results, ranging from the pretty dire Jack in a Pot, then the far more enjoyable Tiki Fruits and more recently the very good Mystery Reels Power Reels edition. Here we have the background of a purple diamond pattern and black reels which highlight the symbols nicely, but will these fruits mean a snappy gain for our bankroll?
On The Reels...
The grid contains 8 rows and columns for 64 tiles and the symbols appear stacked too on Fruit Snap slot. The pays are for clusters of 5 or more adjacent symbols and winning clusters get replaced by more tiles descending from above. There is a scenario where symbols can pay double for a win, but the basic pays range from 777x bet for a cluster of 30+ 7's to 12x for 30+ of the lowest symbol, the Strawberry. The 5-of-a-kind clusters range from 2.5x for the 7's down to a mere 0.1x for the Strawberry and in between there are Diamonds, Bells, Stars, Dice, Melons, Lemons, Cherries and Oranges. There are scatters in the form of Crowns but no Wilds here, but we do get some cumulative modifiers!
Above the grid the Crown takes pride of place in the centre and has 3 sections to fill in by accumulating 3 of them in any one game for the free spins bonus. To the left you will see the premium symbols of 7 down to Dice and to the right the lower-value fruits. Any win consisting of one of them illuminates the symbol and once all the premiums are lit your next win in the spin will double all pays consisting of them. Once all the fruits are lit you get them all removed from the grid and hopefully a nice pay consisting only of premiums. In both cases any losing spin resets the symbol meters so you need to fill either side in one game through multiple cascades!
You can also get a random symbol fill at any time to help you on your way to filling either side of the symbol meters.
You need 3 Crowns to appear in any given spin. You get 8 or more spins awarded and during these your meters won't ever be reset and symbols stay illuminated for the duration. Naturally to fill all symbols in short order would result in the remaining spins being played with only premium tiles at double pays, and this is how you'd be most likely to get the slot's claimed top-pay of 3482x bet! Three more Crowns will add 5 extra spins each time.
The good thing about Fruit Snap slot is the fact you can actually win quite big in the base game although the meters being one symbol short on a spin can be quite frustrating. The appearance is fine overall with nice crisp sounds and very good colourful animations when wins occur. The game runs quickly with a 95.75% RTP, smoothly too but really comes into its own in the free games. Here you can guarantee some degree of excitement and anticipation if you activate one or even both meters quite early one. If you don't, you'll not get much but you will see more random symbol-fills during them. If you need an easy slot to play, you may well be advised to make a snap decision to go meet these fruits...
