Big Bass Bonanza Megaways slot review

big bass bonanza megaways slot gameBig Bass Bonanza Megaways slot by Reel Kingdon is obviously based on the standard Bigger Bass Bonanza slot released previously. It has one of those silly cartoon fisherman themes like Blueprint Gaming's Fishin' Frenzy Megaways slot before it and doesn't have the good looks of IGT's great Lucky Larry's Lobstermania 2 slot but let's not lose hope yet! The simple ocean background, symbols, silly music and bubbling sounds remain true to the original 12-line game so not a lot to describe aesthetics wise. Can we reel in a big catch for our bankroll here or will it be lose hook, line and sinker?

On the reels...
You have 2-6 rows on each of the 6 reels with stacked and single symbols on Big Bass Bonanza Megaways slot. The top row of 4 single tiles means 324 - 46656 ways are possible here and the Net Wild can only appear on it too. The 6-of-a-kind pays are 50x bet Float, 7.5x Rod, 2x Dragonfly or Box, 1.75x Fish Money symbol with six card values of 1.75 down to 0.8x for each full way of 6 symbols, same as the Bonanza Megaways pays. The Big Bass is the scatter appearing on all reels with any winnig tiles replaced by tumbles from above. The Fish Money symbol displays cash values but we cannot win these in the base game and there's no modifiers here so on to the big event!

Free Spins
You need 3 Big Bass scatters for 10 and 4+ for 20 spins. There is now a different reel set with a Fisherman added to the grid on all reels. If he lands, as well as any standard symbol pays, each incidence of him will pay all the Fish Money symbol values in view which can be up to 50x each. If he lands with no Fish Money on the reels, he may randomly dynamite symbols to replace them with Fish Money ones or simply blow all symbols up aside from himself in order to replace the whole grid. In cascades, Fish Money symbols don't disappear but sink to the bottom of the grid in case the Fisherman tumbles in later to catch them! There is also a scale on the right of the reel in the bonus. Every 4 Fisherman landing will retrigger 10 more spins but firstly at 2x multiplier. Do this again for a second retrigger and then 10 spins at 3x multiplier and finally a third one will award 10 spins at 10x and that's it. The game is capped at a rather pathetic 4,000x bet alas.

Our View...
Big Bass Bonanza Megaways slot has a good 96.70% RTP but that's about it. It looks and sounds pretty dire with few decent wins in the base game although the feature is easier to land than on most Megaways. This is poor too most of time, always seeing to fall one Fisherman short of the retrigger and paying very little on the way. This all means that sticking the game out for eventually getting a retriggering exciting bonus round will be costly and even if you do, you have a stupid 4,000x win cap anyway. Reel Kingdom have created a ridiculous strategy of making game maths tell you one thing with theoretical wins and then with the other hand severely truncating them with low limits. This is not how slot developers should work in my opinion. You won't get a big catch here, rather a big snatch of your money...
