Templar Tumble slot by Relax Gaming falls sadly below the standard of their recent releases it must be said. It looks okay with the grid set over a stone church guarded by the Knights Templar, decent graphics and gentle music to play along to. I cannot see this offering up the potential or excitement of their other games of late, such as Money Train 2 slot which is very popular, Iron Bank slot with its imaginative and exciting free spin options or even Temple Tumble Megaways which despite its similar name is quite different. So can this military order protect our bankroll here or will it be a losing crusade for our money?

We have 6 columns of 7 tiles each so 117649-ways to win on Templar Tumble slot. The 6-of-a-kind pays via the individual tiles here are as a result quite low. The Helmet is 2x bet, Cross Ring 1.2x, Lion 1x, Eagle 0.8x, Tree 0.6x with four card suits all paying 0.4x for each way of six. You won't get all the 117649 ways initially either as much of the top of the grid will be stone 'blocker' tiles which are liberated by getting winning tiles adjacent them. You do get Wild tiles on columns 2-6 which will each turn a random number of blocker tiles into mystery symbols which are accumulated until no more winning tumbles occur. (These Wilds can't occur on the initial drop, only the cascades after any initial wins and a maximum of one each time.) At this point they will all transform to a normal paying symbol which may or may not create another win or will transform into coin symbols with a cash value of 1 to 1000x bet.

To trigger these you can buy the bonus for 80x bet in some jurisdictions, otherwise you need to clear all the blocker symbols to free up the whole 117649-way grid. You will play the 6 free spins on this full grid and obviously any Wilds will create their mystery symbols or coins only on the normal positions as there aren't blockers any more. You cannot get retriggers or extra spins either. So the best wins will come via getting several small wins on the same free games which all add Wilds and build up a large amount of mystery symbols across the reels.
Our View...
Templar Tumble slot has a 96.25% RTP. That's the positives out of the way, if we take into account the reasonable appearance and sounds here too. That leaves us with a pretty mediocre base game where good wins are rare and the frustrating vista of very nearly clearing the blockers but not quite getting the free games. When you do, they are volatile can pay quite poorly if you miss the 'special' spin. This will be one which gives several wins and builds up say an average of 2 mystery symbols per reel which will then reveal a good symbol and multiple ways of it. The Knights Templar are a thing of the past, as this slot now is to me...
