Volatile Vikings slot summary
Volatile Vikings slot by Relax Gaming is not just referring to the berserker nature of these famous warriors, but the game maths too. We have a mechanic not used by Relax before but it is present in a few Pragmatic Play games such as Sweet Bonanza Xmas slot and their more recent edition Starlight Princess slot. You get 6 columns of 5 tiles here on Volatile Vikings slot and pays are actually scatters like those two Pragmatic games I quoted above. You have 3 pay groupings, low 8-9 tiles, medium 10-11 tiles and high 12+ tiles. There's two types, carvings for the higher pays and runes for the lower pays. I will state the high/low pays here: Red Carving 50/10x, Yellow 25/2x, Green 15/1.5x, Purple 12/1.2x, Blue 10/1x with 4 Runes of various colours ranging from 6/0.5x down to 3/0.4x.
Multiplier Reveal
You don't get Wilds but Chest scatters appear on each column. The main symbol of interest though is the Multiplier Reveal tiles which land each spin on columns 3 and 4. Each one has a multiplier from 1-100x and the low numbers are Bronze, Medium are Silver and top multipliers of 50 or 100x in Gold. There is a counter on them too from 2-6 usually. Each winning tumble will reduce the counter by 1 and if you clear the counter, that multiplier is applied to overall win for that spin. Not only that, the multiplier will explode afterwards removing a maximum of 8 tiles around it. If you remove both multipliers, their values are added for that spin.
Free Games
Landing 3+ Chest scatters awards 6 free spins with each scatter during the round adding +1 spin. The obvious enhancement is applied here - any multipliers collected are stored in a counter to the right and that collected value will apply to all wins afterwards and can only increase if more multipliers are collected. We are informed 20,000x bet is possible.
Our View...
Volatile Vikings slot has a 96.23% RTP or 97.00% if using the 100x bet bonus buy feature if available in your location. You do occasionally land decent multiplier hits in the base game but aside from that it becomes dreary quite quickly. The bonus free spins are okay but too often pay 10-30x bet to allow for those rare freak mega hits where they pay thousands. Then again, Relax did name the game 'volatile' and you get what it says on the tin...
