Free Fucanglong slot
Please be patient, some games take longer to load than others!
Fucanglong slot is a highly glossy and modern-looking game from RTG and is played over 5 reels and 4 rows offering 1024 ways to win with no pay lines. The title doesn't mean what I initially thought, the opposite of 'very short' but is in fact the name of a 'Treasure Dragon' from ancient Chinese mythology as this article describes. The minimum stake is 30 coins for a spin. Like all RTG slots the RTP is determined by operator option, so can be from 91-97%.
On the reels...
There are single Dragon Wilds appearing on reels 2 to 5 which don't multiply and all other symbols are single bar the top-paying ones which can appear in varying stacks of 1 to 4 rows. The pays are all rather odd given that following the Chinese lucky number of 8, the slot's top-paying 5-of-a-kind pays 388 coins which is a shade under 13x stake and the pays go down the symbols at 288, 188 and 88 coins. Now before one calculates that 1024-ways of the top symbol could pay over 13,000x stake, take a breath as like all RTG games we have a win cap, in this case 2000x stake!
There are scatters on all reels of two types; The first, the Dragon's Pearl awards 8 free games for 3 or more in view. These are unique because after you conclude the 8 spins a Green Pearl is revealed above reel 5 which displays an amount of 3-88x stake. If you are in excess of it with your total win you are paid. If not (which is actually what you want) you start the 'Fucanglong spins' - and they are too as they continue until the amount you've won exceeds the Pearl value at the top! Given that this rises by 1-8x stake each spin, it can take tens of extra spins to beat it even though at this stage Wilds become expanding. The maximum total though is capped at, you guessed it! - 888x stake.
Should you land 3 or more Dragon Mountain symbols anywhere in view the 8 free Dragon Mountain spins begin. In these the Wilds on reels 2 to 5 will expand but ONLY if you triggered with 4 or 5 scatters. Any retriggers add 3 extra spins only but increase the multiplier by 1x up to a maximum of, wait for it, 8x. This feature has a better cap at the game's 2000x but is generally poor in return compared to the Dragon's Pearl spins above.
Fucanglong slot in an example of how RTG have upped their game so their slots have a more polished and aesthetically pleasing European feel to the graphics - more akin to a NextGen slot or something from Play'n Go. The sound effects are good and if we ignore the win caps which always form part of the US-facing package RTG provide for their operators, you have a really imaginative variant of the free games features seen elsewhere. The bonus rounds seem to be quite frequent so the volatility isn't above medium. This is one Treasure Dragon I will never be afraid of...
