Cluedo Spinning Detectives slot as you may have guessed is a tradmarked game similar to Super Monopoly Money under the Hasbro Games Copyright. Unlike Microgaming’s abysmal trademarked Tarzan slot, some considerable effort has gone into this one! The reels feature the 5 rooms of the Cluedo game you may be familiar with: Conservatory, Library and Kitchen plus of course the characters Plum and the crew and naturally the weapons of murder like the pistol and lead pipe.
There are 5 reels with 4 rows and 40 pay lines to get you started and all the reels have fully stacked Cluedo Wilds. The screen has a scroll on the left of the 5 different rooms with values attached. The Dining Room 1000, kitchen, snooker room, library down to the conservatory at 20. This is because there are 5 in-play Wild – enhanced single spin features. Should you land a single room symbol you will be be taken there for one spin with various Wilds in play and the reel symbols will be different with the murder weapons appearing. The Library for example will award 1 to 4 Wild reels as you will see the spine of a book in the form of a stacked Wild to the right of the screen which will then move leftwards placing itself over at least one reel. Should you not win, you get a 1x stake pay.
To get that room’s jackpot (the amount displayed as above i.e. 1000x stake in the case of the Dining Room) you need to hit 5 Magnifying Glass scatters during that one spin for that room.
The Billiard Room has 6 different coloured balls on the reels all acting as Wilds in that spin, The Conservatory has Gold White, Peacock and Green characters which pay mixed, The Library Wild reel(s) as mentioned above, The Kitchen 2 to 15 knife Wilds are randomly added to the screen and lastly the Dining Room will give you 2 to 5 poison reels which are Wild.
Bonus scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 award 7 free spins. You begin in the lowest room and the spins play with the Wild enhancements described above. If you land an envelope however on reel 5, you get an extra free spin and advance 1, 2 or 3 rooms. The envelopes are available in any of the first 4 rooms. Kitchen is the second last room so if you advance there and get the envelope you get to the final Dining Room with the 2-5 Wild Poison reels each spin plus the chance of a 1000x stake prize for 5 Magnifying Glass scatters. The round is quite an eventful one!
There is yet another feature: land 3 dice scatters on reels 1, 2 and 3 to achieve a pick-me bonus. A good(ish) one I hasten to add! You are awarded 7 picks which can award cash, 2x multiplier for your total win or characters, rooms and weapons. Should you ‘solve’ a case by getting a matching set of suspect, weapon and room you are awarded more cash and another 3 picks. If you ‘solve’ all the cases you are awarded a 30x stake bonus too. You can get up to 2 of the 2x multipliers which means your total can be multiplied by 4, but this doesn’t apply to the ‘all cases solved’ award.
WMS have put much thought into Cluedo Spinning Detective slot as should be expected of a developer when investing in a Trademark for a slot. There is big win potential, the game is fun and bonuses of all types occur frequently enough to maintain your interest. Some of the features have been plucked straight from other WMS classics, such as Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers, but this enhances the experience in my opinion. A jolly decent 96.06% RTP along with stacked Wilds makes the base game enjoyable enough too. Yep! I think my Deerstalker and magnifying glass are going to be coming out soon…
