Lunaris slot summary
Online slot developer WMS Gaming is a roll recently with the releases of the epic Raging Rhino slot and the Wheel Bonus feature Montezuma slot both attracting positive receptions from online slots players. The big question is, can Lunaris keep this encouraging habit going?
It's Got Colossal Reels
Lunaris is another Colossal Reels slot from WMS Gaming. These are slots that have enjoyed a large amount of success for the developer so it is easy to see why they have released another one. It is a 100 pay-line slot where there are two sets of reels. There are the standard 5x4 reels and the larger 5x12 reels. You can play for as little as 50p per spin or as much as £250 per spin.
Inspired by Moths?!
This slot takes its inspiration from the Lunaris moths with Lunaris meaning crescent-shaped in Latin and this refers to the unique shape of the moths. Yes, I know, a random theme for a slot but it does look quite beautiful with the reels set against the backdrop of a forest in moonlight.
The Symbols
The symbols consist of various star constellations, white flowers, pink flowers, a telescope and the regular hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds symbols. The Wild is represented by some weird freaky looking face inside an ornament. I’m sure it is meant to look mystical but I will be having nightmares over that face for months!
Win Big with the Mystery Bonus
Standing out as the main feature on this slot is the Mystery Bonus. This is an intriguing feature. The mystery symbol is represented by a green Lunaris moth that appears on reel 1, 3 and 5. Each time one of these symbols appears on the reels it will come with a number up to the value of 20 attached to it. That number of months will then materialize and fly over to the larger set of 5x12 reels and turn random symbols into a designated symbol to help increase the chance of completing winning combinations on that set of reels.
Earn up to 25 Free Spins
Lunaris also comes with a standard free spins bonus round. This is triggered if you hit three or more caterpillar symbols across the reels. If you manage to hit six caterpillar symbols across the reels then you will win up to 25 free spins.
Our View...
I must admit, I was treading carefully when I started to play this slot. I felt the theme was a bit soft and I was worried the slot might lack depth. The Mystery Bonus is a great little inclusion and the free spins bonus round can provide some big wins. It isn’t as breath-taking as previous Colossal Reels slots such as the magical Giant’s Gold slot and the blood and thunder Spartacus – Gladiator of Rome slot but it does not do WMS Gaming’s reputation any harm at all.
