It only seems like yesterday that I was sat here writing a review for the superb Wizard of Oz – Ruby Slippers and now here I am casting a judgmental gaze over the new incarnation in the series of slots based on the fantastic story of Dorothy and her journey to the Emerald City.
Wizard of Oz – Wicked Riches is the 5 reel, 30 pay-line follow-up to the successful Wizard of Oz – Ruby Slippers slot that has gained a mass following of players since its release.
Unlike its predecessor, where the symbols were based on the characters of the Wizard of Oz story, this slot is all about the Wicked Witch. Symbols across the reels include the Wicked Witch herself, a broomstick, bucket of water, castle and witch’s hat.
The main bonus feature in this slot is the Winged Monkey Bonus. This is randomly triggered with one of the iconic winged monkeys flying across the reels and randomly turning a symbol Wild. All identical symbols present on the reels at the time of this change will then turn Wild as well giving you a chance to complete a lot of winning combinations.
This slot also has a Wicked Riches Free Spins Bonus where you can win up to 8 free spins. This is triggered when you hit three or more feature symbols across the reels. You can re-trigger the free spins if you hit the three feature symbols during the free spins. The Wicked Witch will also reward you with a 2x to 10x multiplier during this feature if you complete a winning combination.
Another feature that is present in this slot is the Tornado Bonus and this is also randomly triggered. It is the key to winning one of the four progressive jackpots that are available to win during this slot. The four progressives that are up for grabs (starting with the smallest and ending with the largest) are the Kansas Progressive, Munchkinland Progressive, Haunted Forest Progressive and the Emerald City Progressive. In this feature, you will be presented with a choice of 8 barns and you must select 1 to reveal a prize. That prize could well be the Emerald City Progressive jackpot prize.
Wizard of Oz – Wicked Riches is another step forward for the Wizard of Oz slot series by online slot developer WMS Gaming. Its release has been anticipated for a while now and it is a sure fire hit in my opinion.
