narcos slot announcement

Casino software company NetEnt has agreed a deal to build an online slot game themed on the Emmy award-nominated TV show, Narcos. The show, which has completed 3 seasons on Netflix, has been a global phenomenon and now looks set to be recreated in a real money slot in the coming months.

The announcement was made on Tuesday at the International Casino Expo in London. The game will be built under license from Gaumont, who produce Narcos. The new slot is expected to feature several key characters from the crime-themed show, but no details have emerged as to whether drug-kingpin Pablo Escobar will be the top paying symbol.

Speaking of the new game deal Henrik Fagerlund, NetEnt’s Chief Product Officer said: “We’re continuing to push boundaries with our branded games and Narcos is certainly one of our biggest deals to date. The series became an overnight sensation with a huge fan base all over the world and it gives us yet another demographic who can have fun playing our games.”

Gaumont’s Head of Legal and Business Affairs, Tim Stephen commented: “NetEnt is a world leading provider of premier online gaming solutions, and we trust them to develop and create a gaming property that will thrill the millions of Narcos fans around the world and provide a new way for them to experience and engage with the brand.”

NetEnt have released a succession of branded slots, such as the movie-themed Planet of the Apes and the rock-themed Motorhead. They have also released a limited amount of information about a Jumanji slot, based on the 2017 film of the same name.
