Crown of Valor slot summary
Crown of Valor slot by Quickspin brings us a rare cluster pays edition from this Playtech-owned developer. We get a medieval battle theme with the obligatory dramatic military music, warrior sound effects and ruined castle in twilight background so no surprises as to the aesthetics. Play'n Go has Tower Quest slot with a similar theme and alas Microgaming's effort in this genre, Ivory Citadel slot was pretty dire. Those two however, never had the cluster pays set up and the far superior Troll Hunters 2 slot from Play'n Go did, for a better comparison. So can we get our bankroll crowned here or will discretion prove to the best part of valour?
On the grid...
There are 5 columns of 5 individual tiles here on Crown of Valor slot with pays for clusters of 5 to 12+ adjacent symbols. These are for 12+ and 5 respectively - Crown 250x bet/2x bet, Lion 50/1.5x, Cat 20/1x, Eagle 15/1x, A or K 7.5/0.25x and finally Q or J 5/0.2x. You can get Wild tiles and there is an in-play multiplier which raises 1x for each winning cluster in a spin and also every Wild used in a win will add 1x to it. Each winning cluster will create a Wild after the tiles are replaced anyway to help you along.
There is a progressive Wild Fire modifier too - once you have collected 18 wins the meter on the right of the grid will have filled and then it will send 4 Fire Wilds crashing onto the screen to hopefully award a good cluster and increase the multiplier for the win several times via those Wilds being used.

In some jurisdictions these can be bought for 80x bet but if not, 3 to 5 Bonus Scatters will trigger 10, 14 or 18 spins respectively. As you might have surmised, the multiplier doesn't reset between spins and as in the base game, any cluster and any used Wild will increase the multiplier by 1x. In case you're wondering, the Wild Fire meter is destroyed when the free spins begin and cannot be triggered within the bonus. You can get +1 spin for getting enough wins within one free spin too. We are told on the splash screen that 15,500x bet can be won here.
Our View...
Crown of Valor slot has a 96.16% RTP and is quite good for both sounds and visuals here with some nice animations. It's just as well we have a Wild Fire meter which will normally pay in the 10-100x range when triggered, because the base game is pretty thin for big wins and heavy on micro wins. The feature isn't too regular and is very volatile so if off to a bad start, you'll know for sure it's going to be poor and far, far from those multi-thousands times-bet results possible. That said, you could well be wearing a gold crown if you have the valour to take this game on...
