Wait, what’s this? A slot from online developer IGT that has a mythical Greek theme? Clearly, the epic Treasures of Troy did not fulfill their quota for the mythical Greek-themed slots! Unlike developer WMS Gaming with their Greek-themed Zeus slot and equally Greek-themed Kronos slot.
In all fairness, considering how many slots there are out there with a Greek mythology theme, IGT don’t really have too many slots that boast that theme so this Golden Goddess slot can avoid ridicule.

Golden Goddess is a 5 reel, 40 payline slot that boasts the Super Stacks feature that can be triggered on spins of just 40 coins or more. Now, for those not in the know, the Super Stacks feature is where each reel contains stacks of the same symbol increasing your chances of hitting winning combinations. Before each spin, a symbol is chosen randomly, except for the Bonus symbol, on each reel to become its stacked symbol. Every stacked symbol positions itself on a reel to change to the same symbol. The same symbol can appear in the Super Stacks on multiple reels on the same spin. When the same symbol appears in the stacks as it does on other reels then there is the increased potential for big wins.

This slot is not all about the Super Stacks though. There is also a free spins bonus round. This free spins bonus round is triggered when you hit nine Bonus symbols on the three central reels. You must then choose one of these Bonus symbols to reveal a Goddess, Dove, Horse or Man symbol. The symbol that is revealed will then become the Super Stacks symbol (OK, so maybe it is all about the Super Stacks!). You will then be awarded with 7 free spins. Unfortunately, the free spins cannot be re-triggered which is a bit frustrating but the presence of the stacked symbols during the free spins more than compensates.

Golden Goddess does throw this Super Stacks feature down your throat but you will love it. In the same way that IGT’s innovative Da Vinci Diamonds Dual Play captured our imaginations and in the same way that WMS Gaming’s Jungle Wild re-release saw us fall in love with the slot all over again. Is it a game-changer? Not really. However, you will be hard pushed to find a better release from IGT over the next few months.
