The theme here is pirates and like their slots tend to have, we have a number prefix for the title as we had with 6 Wild Sharks slot and their last release before this 2 Gods slot, with 1 Left Alive slot being the earliest in that string of games. Here we have transparent reels over an aerial view of the ocean with two pirate ships firing across from each side, with the necessary sound effects. So can it be a boom for our bankroll or will it be a case of losing here is as easy as 1-2-3?
On the reels...
We have 4 reels of 5 rows each and 1024-ways to win on 123 Boom! slot. Before you think I have that reversed in error, the 4 reels spin horizontally instead of vertically on the desktop and vertically if using the mobile version. On desktop, the wins pay from the left toward the right, on mobile the bottom row is upward. There is another quirk here too, as only the highest win pays before the symbols disappear, which can mean you have a ready-made win for the next action - apparently it's possible to have 107 consecutive wins on one game!
The 5-of-a-kind pays are 20x Pirate, 5x Lady Pirate, 3x Chest, 2.5x Coin, 2x Pistols or Cutlasses, 1.5x Flag, 1.2x Map, 1x Telescope, and finally 0.8x Wheel. You get Cannonball Wilds which if no wins are present will explode the symbols on their row and disappear from the left, hopefully creating a win in the process. Bonus Cannon scatters appear too and you need to collect 3 or more to turn the game to nighttime and hit the feature.
Bonus Feature
You may not notice when this triggers as the reels simply go dark and the feature is a continuation of the same spin you triggered it on. Now though, you will get a 1x multiplier increase for each winning action. The 3 scatters will each throw a Cannonball Wild onto the grid when the win sequence stops and effectively continue it, but once you've used those 3 lives up and don't get another win, it's all over. The maximum pay in testing on this feature was 14,827x bet and it triggers on average every 203 spins.
Our View...
123 Boom! slot is very different from any other game and may take some time for you to get your eyes tuned in to the reels mechanic. Once you have, it's a good slot to play with some decent wins in the base game which isn't tiring or childish and has some decent sound effects. The bonus is quite exciting with some potential plus you get a good 96.44% RTP. The bonus also tends to pay a decent amount so it's rare to get those silly sub-10x features, very rare indeed. It may take some time to get used to the 7 seas here, but once you do you certainly have a chance of bringing back some plunder...
