1 Left Alive slot by 4ThePlayer comes quite soon after their first release in conjunction with Yggdrasil Gaming, 9K Yeti. The theme is an old one, the dreaded zombies and here we get a post-apocalyptic nighttime scene behind the reels with deep and creepy music or sound effects as we play. It's far darker than Microgaming's Zombie Hoard but maybe not as grisly as Netent's Zombies, so we get something in the middle on the scary scale. We must hope here that our bankroll is the last thing left alive!
On The Reels...
There are 5 reels of 4 rows each giving us a 1024-way slot initially. 1 Left Alive slot has a mechanic that is trademarked called Plus+Ways. I found it quite hard to figure out have Plus+Ways works. If I said to you that you had a 5-of-a-kind win with a single matching symbol on reels 1, 3, and 5 and a triple stacked Wild on reels 2 and 4 you would expect 3x3 for the Wilds, so 9x 5-O-A-K wins. However, you would get fewer wins despite 4ThePlayer claiming there are another 32,768 Plus+Ways possible!
Anyway, the 5OAK pays are 50x for the stacked Survivor Wild in the form of an armed blonde lady, 20x Green Zombie, 10x Blue, 5x Purple, and 3x Yellow with six card values paying 1.5x, 1x, and 0.5x as they descend in rank. Symbols are stacked and you see Severed Hand scatters on the center reels for your bonus.
Bloody Wilds Free Games
Land those 3 Severed Hands to get 7 free spins that can retrigger. You will be given a pick option that reveals one of the four zombie characters as mentioned above. The Survivor Wild will still be present on the reels and any of the chosen zombies appearing with her in the same spin will be turned into Bloody Wilds. These remain on the screen and drop one row per spin until they disappear off the bottom. You can win over 4,000x your bet according to the game data but realistically a few hundred times is a good bonus here, entertaining as it is.
Our View...
1 Left Alive slot is a creditable successor to the 9K Yeti slot with good graphics and sounds plus excellent animations. The 97.00% RTP is also excellent and above par for most slots. You get quite frequent big wins which 4ThePlayer set at 15x or better and the feature is good to behold and seldom provides a stinker of say less than 20x bet and often retriggers. Your bonus frequency is around 240 spins on average so it's not too volatile, so I'd say your money will be left alive maybe a little longer than you expected...
