Free Buccaneer Blast slot
Please be patient, some games take longer to load than others!
Buccaneer Blast slot by Playtech provides us with some screen-shaking cannon fire but not a lot else if the truth be told. Rarely do you see any pirate or old galleon ship themed slots which are much good as the graphics tend to be the focus rather than a decent mechanic, even then rather juvenile. If you have played the awful Piggy Pirates, or Nextgen's Wild Plunder you'll see my point although Yggdrasil's Pirates' Plenty is a bit better than those two. Here we get transparent reels over a moving ocean background and some dramatic sounding splashes and music as the reels spin and stop and not too childish graphics but that's the best of it alas. Will this buccaneer blast away our bankroll in record time though?
On The Reels...
We get a standard 5 reels here on Buccaneer Blast slot with 3 rows each and 10 fixed paying lines which offer both-way pays. Symbols appear stacked and depressingly there are no scatters or Wilds spinning around on the reels. What you do get though are cannon below the centre 3 reels but we'll soon sail around to those. The 5-of-a-kind pays are 15x bet for the Red Captain, 5x Lady, 3x Sailor with Parrot and 25x Monkey with the low symbols being Green, Blue or Purple ships all paying 2x for a full line.
Ships Turned Wild
If a cannon appears under either or both of reel 2 and 4, any low-paying ship symbols will be blasted and turn into Wilds.
Should the black pirate ship appear on the water behind the reels, you will get a respin. Cannon appear under all 3 centre reels and a random number of shots are fired from each, turning any tiles they hit into Wilds. Wow.
Buccaneer Blast slot is utterly tedious despite the frequent in-play modifiers. The trouble is that there is no gold in these ships to win, with the top pay for a full screen of Captains and Wilds paying a monstrous 150x bet if you actually got really lucky and hit them. I know low-variance slots are popular amongst some players but this is really below the threshold of hope if you actually want to win anything of substance. The graphics, sounds and animations are okay and the RTP of 96.15% is too but that's moot as there's absolutely no reason to play this game. A blast I certainly did not have with this particular buccaneer...
