Free White King 2 slot
Please be patient, some games take longer to load than others!
White King 2 slot is the follow up to an old Playtech classic White King and the theme is again that of the rare Timbavati white lion from South Africa although I'm not sure why there is a ruined Roman temple in the background! If you like lions then Red Tiger and their oriental-themed games will usually supply plenty including Lion Festival and Lion Dance but I must say I prefer to see the creature in its more natural form without the artistic adornments. This doesn't follow with the sounds though as we hear some pretty lame music and basic taps when we spin with very few animal noises thrown in to reflect their power. Will the White King prove to be a roaring success for our bankroll, or will we bow out with a whimper?
We have 40 paying lines on White King 2 as we also had with the original White King over 5 reels of 4 rows each. Symbols are all single-stacked aside from the White Lion and here is where the main difference between this game and the original lies - all picture icons can appear as 'doubles' and therefore any win from 3 to 10-of-a-kind is possible on a pay line.
The White King is stacked and is the game's Wild appearing fully stacked in both single and double form. It is the highest pay at 5000 coins for our 40-coin bet, or 125x stake for 10-of-a-kind but only 2.5x for 5. The other picture symbols are the Crown at 2500 coins and the Eagle, Lioness and Cub all award 1500 coins. As the six card values don't appear doubled on the reels you cannot get 10-of-a-kind wins, but a maximum of 9 if appearing with doubled Wilds and these pay either 500, 160 or 120 coins from Ace/King downwards. We won't see any in-play random stuff here but you can trigger a quite volatile bonus on White King 2.
If you see 3 or more White King logo scatters anywhere on reels 2, 3 and 4 (Playtech haven't bothered to change the logo on the scatters to 'White King 2' by the way) you will be awarded the free games. If you were wondering, the scatter can also appeared doubled therefore you can see any amount from 3 to 6 in view, which means you can also miss a reel out i.e. a double on reel 2 and a single on reel 4 will suffice. This will award 5 free games and 15 for 4, 25 for 5 and 50 for all 6. You can retrigger them in exactly the same quantities and the one enhancement is that you get more stacked Wilds added to the reels.
White King 2 slot is quite simply another shelf-filler from Playtech. It's essentially a higher-volatility version of the original due to the bigger line pays and free spins quantities possible. Nothing special regarding the graphics, sound effects or animations but the most shocking part of this review is the utterly awful RTP. The original version was a quite abominable 90.05% and given that most slots are in the 95-97% range nowadays you may have expected something similar here - well I can tell you now that White King 2 offers us an execrable 91.40% in terms of RTP. Now I understand players may sometimes lay too much importance on RTP figures because for example a 94% slot could have a bigger proportion of RTP allocated to the base game than a 96% one, therefore the 94% model could offer you more play time for your money and appear better value. This game's figure though is completely unacceptable and for that reason alone I hope player visits to the slot are as rare as the white lion itself...
