Power of Thor Megaways slot review
Power of Thor Megaways slot from Pragmatic Play doesn't bring too much in the way of originality to the mechanic. We have a Norse Mythology theme, done before with Blueprint's Vikings Unleashed Megaways slot, the usual generic Bonanza slot style feature and the 'innovation' here can be found on Inspired Gaming's Centurion Megaways slot. We have here the usual appearance and music of a slot using this theme and cartoon depictions of the usual Norse Gods, nothing more. So will our bankroll be crushed under Thor's mighty hammer or shall we find Valhalla for our money?
On the reels...
There is the standard set up here on Power of Thor Megaways slot with 6 reels of 2-7 rows and a top scroll of 4 symbols over the centre with single and stacked symbols. Wilds can only appear on the top scroll with scatters on all reels and winning symbols are replaced by tumbles from above. Thor is the best 6-of-a-kind win at 20 stake followed by Odin 5x and Loki or Freya 2x with six card values from 1.5 down to 0.6x. You can get a Double Hammer Wild on the top scroll and when this lands, the two reels below will turn Wild, so a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 symbols on each reel. If it's not used in a win, it can move left on the scroll too.
You need four scatters to spell out THOR for 10 free games and +4 spins for each one over, up to a maximum of 9 scatters or 30 spins. You get free spins with an increasing multiplier for each winning action and will usually see the Hammer Double Wild at least once during them. Three or 4 scatters on the top scroll awards +4 or +8 spins too. You can gamble your initial award if 4-6 scatter triggers (10, 14 or 18 spins) for a maximum of 22 spins on a gamble wheel but will lose them all if failing! The round is capped at 5,000x bet.
Power of Thor Megaways slot is really nothing to get excited about, despite the welcome appearance of the double expanding Wild here. The graphics, sounds and animations are mundane and the cap of 5,000x may not appeal to the big-win chasers out there. You do get a good 96.55% RTP, rising to 96.87% if using the bonus buy if permitted in your jurisdiction, at 100x bet. The feature gamble wheel is supposed to reflect true odds, with the likelihood of winning increased the more spins you have, but I lost 10 consecutive '50-50' gambles from buying the feature at 10-spins! I'm not sure you'll have any reason to power over to this Megaways game...Review by Gamingslots
