High Street Heist slot summary
High Street Heist slot by Quickspin is a little different to those other crime-themed games we have played before. If you've tried Netent's Cash Noire slot or indeed their other version Crime Scene slot then you have an idea of what this game is about. Even WMS had one of this genre with Crime Pays slot but there aren't many around, possibly due to the connotation a stealing topic has with the negative expectation of gamblers. Our background here is a safe deposit vault with our masked criminal on the reels along with valuables and some urgent music reflecting the tension of the situation. So can we hang on to our precious bankroll here or will it also disappear in the boot of a getaway car?
On the reels...
We get 5 reels of 4 rows apiece with stacked symbols and 1024-ways to win on High Street Heist slot. Your 5-of-a-kind pays are Diamonds 12.5x bet, Red Robber 5x, Orange 3.75x, Green 3x and Pink 2.5x with 5 Rings as the low values paying 1 down to 0.5x. You will notice that the centre 2 rows are actually covered by glass so you effectively have only 32-ways at the start of each spin. Each full column of 4-high stacked symbols that lands will break the glass on its reel and award a re-spin with those extra ways in play. This continues until no further full-reel symbols land and if you break all the glass you trigger the feature! You can land stacked Gold Wilds too although the pay tables don't mention a value for them, perhaps because they aren't on reel 1?
Free Games
As described above, once you break the glass on all 5 reels and enable the full 1024-ways here on High Street Heist slot, you get the feature. This is 10 free games but now there's a meter of 4 segments to the left of the top. Every full-reel symbol now fills in a segment and once you achieve this, there's +2 spins awarded and the lowest Pink Robber turns into the top-paying Diamond on the reels. If you manage to fill the meter 4 times then all Robbers will be Diamonds so there will only be those and the low-value Rings on the reels. If you fill the meter again after this full upgrade then you get +2 spins and 1x added to the round multiplier. We are told 25,000x bet is the best pay here.
Our View...
With a RTP of 96.29% High Street Heist slot isn't a bad proposition although now Quickspin have joined the long list of developers offering nerfed RTP's it can be as low as 90.00%. The appearance and artwork isn't bad and neither are the sounds and music. The base game doesn't tend to drop in may big awards and it's the same frustration here as with all progressively-triggered features - the continual occurrences of 3 or 4 reels unlocked and then failing at that point. That said, the bonus is reasonably frequent although again frustrating. That's because if you don't unlock at least the first Robber within say 3 or 4 spins, you know ultimately its going to be a stinker of a result. You can buy the bonus for 111x bet in some countries too but be aware: This game could well leave you feeling a victim of a heist yourself...
