Tiger’s Glory Ultra slot review
Tiger's Glory Ultra slot by Quickspin takes us back to ancient Rome with the Colosseum in the background and stone reels set over a temple. There are gladiators here but let me tell you now that no tigers are harmed on this slot! Recent Quickspin releases have really brought us nothing new in terms of the game mechanics. This we witnessed with Sticky Bandits 3 which copied Netent's old Dead or Alive game, while this slot is simply a rehash of the older Tiger's Glory slot. So let's see what's different here.
On the reels...
Like before, Tiger's Glory Ultra slot has 6 reels of 4 rows and 4096 ways. The 6-of-a-kind pays are 10x bet Tiger, the 4 Gladiators pay 6.25 down to 5x and the 6 card values 3 down to 2x. Wilds can appear on reels 2-6 and symbols can appear twice or 3 times on the same reel, with scatters possible on all 6. No modifiers so straight to the bonus.
Free spins are triggered by 3-6 scatters and you get 7 to 20. Exactly as before the Tiger symbol pays scattered during them and a Red Tiger landing starts a battle with the Gladiator. If it wins, it becomes sticky and you get an extra spin for your trouble, but there's only 1 extra spin available per column.
So what is the difference between this and the original Tiger's Glory slot? Well, you can choose to play in Classic or now Ultra Mode, which gives you a red background and a far more volatile bonus round. The Classic Bonus has potential of 12,000x bet, the Ultra Bonus of over 32,000x bet! All this means is that the Tiger will win every battle in the Ultra Mode Bonus, but you'll see less of them on average.
Not present on the original game, this has been added and is an option in countries outside the UK.
There are 3 options for triggering free games with 3-6/4-6/5-6 scatters. The fixed buy prices in Ultra Mode are 200, 400, and 1,000x stake which means RTP figures of 96.84%, 96.92%, or 97.00% respectively. In Classic Mode, those prices are 80, 150, or 300x stake respectively with corresponding RTP figures of 96.76%, 96.82%, and 96.91%.
The game isn't bad overall but Tiger's Glory Ultra slot seems to be a cynical ploy to get large-budget YT streamers on board and playing bonus buys for the publicity when big wins occur for both developer and themselves. If you don't have the bonus buys option then the RTP is still a jolly decent 96.51% but unless getting the rare 5 or 6 scatter triggers you'll tend to get sub-100x bet bonus totals consistently. I cannot recommend a game so loaded towards irresponsible stakes. You'll have to be ultra rich or ultra daft to play this on bonus buys alone...
