Wild Cauldron slot summary
Wild Cauldron slot by Quickspin brings us into the old favourite world of wizardry and alchemy which is quite well executed here despite the slightly cartoonish appearance. We have the sounds you would expect of a fantasy kind of slot, with the reels in the window of the wizard or witch's library and a night sky outside. There's definitely a touch of Yggdrasil's Alchymedes slot here in the symbols, it's not as juvenile as Leander's Potion Factory and doesn't have the comedy factor of Merkur's Hexenkessel slot but I think this will be good to play, and hopefully for our bankroll too.
On The Reels...
We have a lot of spare room in the Wizard's window here despite the initial 4096-ways over 6 columns of 4 tiles each. This means that Wild Cauldron slot must expand at some stage which we will get to later. For now the game is in a cascade format which means that new tiles drop down, but may be not in the way you may be used to. Any winning tiles remain and drop down to the bottom of their columns and all the rest disappear with more cascading down. You then get an extra row increasing the game to 15625 ways and this can continue until the grid reaches 8 rows in height and the maximum 262,144 ways. Any Wilds landing in a sequence of tumbles within 1 play will increase the multiplier by 1x each to a maximum of 7x too.
The 6-of-a-kind pays are Red Devil 3.5x stake, Orange Monster 1.5x, Yellow 1.2x, Green 0.8x, Blue 0.7x with six Rune symbols of lightning, the Moon etc. paying either 0.5 or 0.4x for a full way of 6. Potion bottles appear on all reels as the scatters and like winning symbols will remain on the grid until the spin is over and 'W' Wilds can appear on the last 4 reels.
Free Games
You get 8 free games for 4 Green Potion Bottles landing, 10 for 5 or 12 for all 6. These games play the same as the base mechanic except that the multiplier doesn't reset between games and can only rise. There is big potential here, over 5,000x is possible. You get 2 extra games if 2 scatters appear too.
Our View...
We have seen this mechanic before and I have to say it works well with some decent hits possible in the base game and as said, the potential held within the bonus. The game has very good animations and the sounds don't irritate although I think it could have been a little more adult in appearance. The RTP is 96.09% but the free games are volatile and may take a while to trigger. You could though do far worse than putting your cash in this particular cauldron...
