IGT standSpeculation has begun today that Las Vegas-based developer IGT had removed its range of Monopoly slots from a number of casinos.

The Monopoly branded slots that include titles such as the classic Monopoly Here and Now slot and the critically praised Monopoly Pass Go slot have seemingly been taken down from the casinos that offered the titles including Mr Green, Paddy Power Games, and Sky Vegas.

This apparent move to remove the Monopoly slots comes just a matter of days after WMS Gaming announced its release of a Monopoly branded slot in partnership with Barcrest in the form of Monopoly Big Event.

A deal was confirmed earlier this year in January with Scientific Games subsidiary firm WMS Gaming taking over the licensing deal from IGT to develop and release Monopoly branded slots online.

Questions are now being raised about whether the removal of Monopoly slots is a permanent or temporary move from IGT and whether or not the decision to take the slots down from casinos that offered the IGT Monopoly slots was due to the licensing deal now being in the possession of WMS Gaming.

IGT has yet to comment on the situation and there is no confirmed information regarding the reason for the Monopoly slots being removed from the casinos at this stage leaving many guessing as to what the real motive is behind their sudden removal.
