Isle of Man-based Microgaming has agreed a deal with casino software developer Big Time Gaming to produce game content that will include the super-popular Megaways mechanic.

Microgaming’s army of independent game studios will build the Megaways mechanic into a range of new slots titles. The first release from Microgaming to include the Megaways engine will be Shamrock Holmes, which is expected in the early part of 2021.

Megaways has revolutionized the online slots market since the first titles to include it burst on the scenes in 2016. Video slots such as Bonanza, Extra Chilli and Holy Diver are just a few of the many games that now bare its name.

Speaking about this new deal, John Coleman, CEO at Microgaming, said : “Megaways has had huge success and we’re excited to be integrating the mechanic into some of our future games. Big Time Gaming are proven innovators, and we are delighted to extend our relationship with them and grow their presence on our platform.”

Nik Robinson, CEO at Big Time Gaming, commented: “We’re on a mission to bring the Megaways revolution to a bigger audience, and they don’t come much bigger than Microgaming.

“These guys were industry pioneers and today they remain one of the biggest forces in the gaming space. As ardent slots fans, we’re delighted to be contributing in a small way to the Microgaming story.”

The Megaways mechanic can be found in several slots from developers such as BluePrint Gaming, Relax Gaming and iSoftBet.
