Mighty Wilds slot review
Mighty Wilds slot is a double play on the word 'Wild' as not only do we have a theme of powerful 'wild' jungle animals but the slot is also centred around large 'Wild' stacks placed on the last 3 reels in common with many of their latter-day releases such as Light em Up and Safari Spirit. A transparent reel set over a background of a mountain in African bush is accompanied by the ever-present Ainsworth ticking noise as the reels spin and the little jingle if a win occurs. Will these animal and Wilds have a mighty effect on your balance though?
On the reels...
As usual we get the standard Ainsworth formula of 30 pay lines over 5 reels of 3 rows each. The Lion as you may expect gets pride of place as the stacked Wild which as said above is present only on reels 3, 4 and 5 so has no value of its own. The rest of the symbols are single only and the Leopard will pay 15x bet for a 5-of-a-kind followed by the Black Panther at 10x, the Hippo and Cheetah at 6.66x and Gorilla at 5x for the 5. The usual card values form the remainder all awarding 3.33x for a full line. There is the possibility of seeing 50x bet for 5 scattered Eyes anywhere in view, although only 3 are required to tigger the bonus round.
There are a few changes when you get these 10 free games as we will see. You get a 6th. reel added which has blank, scatter or 2x or 3x or 5x multiplier on it. You get 5 extra games for 3 or more scatters but you can now possibly get 6 scatters which will pay 250x bet. The stacked Lion Wild is also now present on reel 2 as well as the last 3 reels, and on reels 2 and/or 4 will expand as well if not landing fully. We haven't finished yet as now the 3 cats, Black Panther, Cheetah and Leopard pay mixed too! Oddly, you get these enhancements but the base game 5-of-a-kind wins are reduced significantly, for example the card values halved and the Leopard down from 15x to 5x for the 5. The bonus is quite entertaining though as it seems it's now quite hard to miss a win on any free game.
Mighty Wilds slot uses the same mechanic as most Ainsworth slots in recent times, with the stacked Wilds on the last 3 reels and the use of an extra reel in the bonus. The RTP is pretty similar too at 93.82% and the potential for a big pay is very limited due to the low volatility model with small frequent wins. The graphics are OK and won't tire you but what will is you realizing "I've seen this all before" and that really is the drawback here. Mighty or not, I am certainly not wildly enthusiastic to play this one again...Review by Gamingslots
