King of the West slot by Blueprint Gaming is yet another Wild West themed game as we can tell by the music and tumbleweed blown dusty street behind the reels. We have 20 pay lines here on King of the West slot over 5 reels of 3 rows apiece. Symbols are single and your 5-of-a-kind pays are 20x Bag of Gold, 5x Wagon, 4x Whiskey, 3x Guns with five card values paying 2 or 1x for each full line. You can get the Bounty Hunter scatter on any reel and Wanted Wilds appear on them all, presumably paying 20x like the top 5OAK symbol. There is one random modifier in that a revolver may appear and fire a quantity of extra Wanted Wilds on to the reels. Your features however don't trigger in the traditional way!
Bounty Hunter Features
You may have noticed a scroll of 5 prizes that is present over the reels. You will be awarded any of them when the Bounty Hunter scatter appears on the reel below. Yes, we've got a game that copies the mechanic of Netent's Egg-o-matic slot. The prizes are:
Cash Values - these are 5 to 20x bet.
Cowboy Cash - these are the higher prizes which range from 25 to 10,000x bet!
Collect All Star - what it says, you get all the 5 prizes shown above when the Bounty Hunter lands underneath it.
Free Games - you will see six bullets in the revolver, as with the random extra Wilds modifier only now each bullet will have a quantity of free games so you get at least 6.
Extra Games - appears in the free spins for extra spins.
In the free games you get far more high-value Cowboy Cash symbols above the reels but still you will be fortunate to get extra spins or more than one of the decent prizes.
Our View...
King of the West slot has a 95.49% RTP and is far more volatile then Egg-o-matic is. You would be very lucky to win a large cash prize from above the reels, in fact getting any prize at all is difficult considering the paucity of the Bounty Hunter scatters in the game. The free spins are hard to trigger, possibly because they usually pay at least one large cash prize from the extra Cowboys above and are over disappointingly quickly. That said, the game doesn't hide its volatility and you have some considerable potential here. Take a trip out west and you could well bring some gold home...
