Wild Toro 2 slot by Elk Studios has at least attempted to be a bit different from the original Wild Toro game. Like Thunderkick on their Gods of Rock slot, we have a connected ways format here although it was originally Elk who specialized in this mechanic as with Hong Kong Tower slot for example. We get the predictable Mexican dusty streets behind the reels and the associated acoustic guitar and trumpet music of the region to accompany us while we play, what else? So can we leave with our bankroll in a bullish mood here or will we end up with what the Toro leaves behind him?
On the reels...
So we begin with 5 reels of 5-rows each with stacked symbols and these can expand up to 8 rows, in which case you would be playing on the maximum 502 connected pay lines on Wild Toro 2 slot. The 5-of-a-kinds are 5x Rose, 2.5x Orange, 1.6x Gold Coin, 1.2x Silver and four card values all of 0.6x. No scatters as such here as like before on the original Wild Toro slot, all features require the Wild Toro or Matadors to be present.
You can get a standard Wild here but there are 4 special ones we need for the real fun! Matadors can appear on reels 2-5. Black Matador is a Walking Blocking symbol, Silver Matador is a Walking Wild that offers re-spins until it disappears off the left of the reels. The Gold Matador is the same but starts with a random multiplier which increases by 1x each time it walks a reel leftwards. Each Matador appearing in this re-spin sequence also adds a row to the reels until they reach a maximum of 8-high. The Toro (Bull) is also a Walking Wild that awards re-spins as he moves left.
Toro Goes Berserk
This is a multiplier re-spins sequence - what you want here is for the Toro to appear (on reel 5 only) when a Matador is present or vice-versa. Toro will move vertically then horizontally to ensure he beats the Matadors. As the Toro knocks any Matadors off the reels he absorbs their multiplier to become a Walking Multiplier Wild himself which increases as he goes leftwards too. Not only that, he leaves a trail of Wilds behind wherever he moves! Now you want to see another Toro enter the fray as if it does, it will begin with by inheriting the multiplier from the Toro already in view. The round ends when all Matadors are knocked off the screen and the Toro has left too. We are told the round is limited to 10,000x bet.
Wild Toro 2 slot has a not-great RTP of only 95.00% and to be honest is quite similar to the original game, the only difference being that we now get expanding reels for more volatility and potential. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as the game is lively, colourful and has enough Matador action to keep you interested and hopefully winning. You may find it a long wait to trigger the Toro Goes Berserk round but it's usually quite entertaining and can go on for a while, when it does so you can expect some nice total returns. You may well discover that edition 2 of the series really is twice the fun...
