Free Book of The Sphinx slot
Please be patient, some games take longer to load than others!
Book of The Sphinx slot by IGT means they joined the long list of developers who now have a 'book' slot. This of course began with Novomatic's Classic Book of Ra and was copied many times, most notably by Play'n Go with Book of Dead and of course Big Time Gaming's Book of Gods. The game has a torch-lit tomb behind the reels and some pretty dramatic Egyptian-style music as we spin with the expected symbols on the reels. So will our bankroll be buried in the sand here or will we see the Pharaoh's gold?
It will come as no surprise as to how the Book of The Sphinx slot works but there are actually 20 lines here over the 5 reels of 3 rows as opposed to the 10 you may be used to with this mechanic. The 5-of-a-kind pays are Pharaoh's Mask 125x bet, Scarab 25x, Dog or Ankh 10x, Asp or Tablet 6x with five card values all at 3x for a full line. Five scattered Books pay 200x bet which is useful as they also double up as the Wild. There is one more symbol which can appear and that's a special feature.
Should you see 3, 4 or hopefully all 5 of these land you will get a pleasant surprise as these are a mystery tile and will all reveal the same icon except the Wild/scatter Book. These then expand as would symbols in the free games and pay scattered.
You need 3 or more Books to trigger 10 free games. You get 15 for 4 or even 30 for all 5 and they can retrigger. You probably know the score here - the Book will reveal a symbol except the Wild which will pay as an expanding scatter if enough of them land to make a win. As we have 20 lines, that's a 20x multiplier effectively for any 3-of-a-kind or better. Unlike the 10-line versions, no symbol pays for 2OAK on Book of The Sphinx slot.
Book of The Sphinx slot is not a bad alternative to the high volatility 10-line Book slots from other developers as it doesn't have such a brutal effect on your balance whilst waiting for the bonus. It also looks and sounds good with a 92.28-96.24% RTP depending on where you play it. The Eye of Horus feature is a nice touch too but you reely need 4 or 5 for big wins. For once, this is another book slot I'd actually like to turn the pages of again...
