Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead slot by Play'n Go is all about Ancient Egypt and lost riches. The star of the game is Cat Wilde who appears to be in yet another mechanic similar to Book of Ra Deluxe, with dramatic music and an Egyptian temple behind the reels and very familiar symbols. I'm hoping not as we not long ago had yet another copy called Doom of Egypt slot from Play'n Go. So will it have to be doom or death for our bankroll here?
We get 10 lines here on Doom of Dead slot but fortunately I can see by the pays that this cannot be a total copy of the same old Ra mechanic. The 5-of-a-kinds pay Cat Wilde 100x bet, Sphinx 25x, Anubis 10x, Scarab 7.5x with five card values paying 3 or 2x for a full line. We get scatters only on the odd reels in the form of a Compass but we do get special Guardian Expanding Wilds on all reels paying 100x bet, with a different character on each reel. So on to the free games.
Well it comes as no surprise that landing the Compass on reels 1,3 and 5 triggers 10 free games with a specially selected expanding scatter. The Expanding Wilds are still present and will substitute for your symbol too and of course you can get the familiar retriggers. Effectively you are getting a 10x multiplier for any wins due to the 10 lines and as long as (depending on which symbol the game selects to be the expanding scatter) you get 2 or 3 plus anywhere in view, you'll win. Play'n Go tell us 5000x can be won here, although with a full screen of Wilds or Cat Wilde paying only 1000x, I'm not sure how you'd see this!
At least Play'n Go have tried something a bit different here with the maths and Wilds of Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead slot, with some good graphics and animations and the familiar Book of Dead sounds. RTP is maximum 96.45% and your free games are more frequent and less volatile on this slot which will appeal to many players. The Expanding Wilds are a nice touch and make the free games especially far more entertaining and even exciting. I can see what our old friend Rich Wilde sees in Cat now...
