Crystal Prince slot summary
Crystal Prince slot by Quickspin is the natural beefed-up progression from their older Crystal Queen slot as we'll discover. The latter slot was based itself on Phoenix Sun slot and to use another developer, think Elk Studios' Ecuador Gold slot. These games have one thing in common - expanding rows when you get wins and that's what we get here. There is an ice background, gentle music to play to and equally soft sound effects after wins, otherwise the game is quite pain to look at. Can we win a princely sum for our bankroll, or will it get frozen out?
On the reels...
There are 4096-ways to win so 6 reels of 4 rows consisting of separate cascading tiles. Each win will add an extra row, if that row produces an extra or an increased win, another row is added. Get to 8 rows or 262144-ways and you get Blizzard Mode where all winning tiles, Wilds, Scatters and high-pay ones are retained, the rest are removed and you get 1 to 3 Wild Frost multiplier Wilds added to the grid too which can be 1, 2 or 3x and multiply each other. New tiles will cascade to replace the removed ones and hopefully form a big win.
The 6-of-a-kind pays aren't high, the Prince is 2x, four different colour Gems pay 0.8 down to 0.5x and four different colour Snowflakes pay either 0.3 or 0.25x for 6OAK. As usual, the real action is reserved for the bonus.

You will be awarded 8, 10, 15 or 20 for 3 to 6 bonus scatters. You can get +3 spins for 2 scatters during the bonus too. You can trigger the Blizzard Mode as per the base game and regardless, there are 1 to 4 Wild Frost multiplier Wilds added each free play too. There is the potential here for big wins, but I doubt any multi-thousand times bet ones would ever occur.
Our View...
With a RTP of 96.04% Crystal Prince slot is a reasonable game to play even if it becomes a bit dull as regards the music and graphics after a sustained session. The Blizzard Mode can produce the occasional mid-range win but the free games are mostly disappointing which you can tell by the relatively low 60x bet price to buy them in some jurisdictions. I would say that far from being a prince amongst slots, this game should be named Crystal Pauper...
