Eastern Emeralds slot from Quickspin appears at first glance to be a fairly standard looking game. It has basic graphics and an Oriental theme which we have seen before from Quickspin with slots such as Sakura Fortune. You get the archetypal soothing Chinese music and very gentle sounds as the reels spin to a stop and your game is set over a rustic landscape with pagodas and shrines in among the trees. On the reels...
We get a standard layout of 5 reels of 3 rows each and 20 paying lines. The symbols are pretty standard and stereotypical with all the main icons represented in solid gold. These are an Idol as the top pay of 7.5x for a 5-of-a-kind win with the Fish at 5x, Tortoise 4x and Bowl or Tokens at 3x for the full line. The five card values pay from 2x down to 1.25x with all icons appearing singly or stacked on the reels.
You may be wondering where Emeralds come into the equation and these are the Wilds appearing on all reels with an interesting twist! On reel 1 the Wild pays 1x, reel 2 it pays 2x and so-on up to 5x on the last reel. The multipliers are cumulative so in the base game you can get 120x for a Wild Line or any win which has the Wilds in line on reels 2 to 5. This is similar to the bonus in Netent's Drive Multiplier Mayhem when the Wilds are fully developed.
Destiny bonus
You simply need to land 3 Phoenix scatters on the centre 3 reels to trigger the free spins and you can choose one of four Wild multiplier and spin quantity variations, something you may have seen on slots such as WMS' Wishing You Fortune.
Option 1: Get 15 spins with the multipliers the same as in the base game. Maximum 120x
Options 2: Get 12 spins where each one increases by 1x so the Wilds on reels 2 to 5 are 3, 4 5 and 6x with a potential Maximum 360x.

Eastern Emeralds slot will certainly have a few slot players talking for obvious reasons concerning the colossal big-win potential it has. One Wild line in the 6 free spins option (or top icon with 4 Wilds on 2-5) would pay 12,600x stake, far higher than in any slot previously mooted by this developer. Naturally this will be less with the lower-volatility free spin options but even in the lowest this line mentioned will produce 1000x bet with the 120x multiplier combination. The graphics and sounds are competent if unspectacular and be aware that you are playing a high-variance game! The RTP is a creditable 96.58% too. I'll probably get my fingers burned, but I know with absolute certainty I shall be trying to grab those hot Wild Emeralds again in future...
