5 Families slot review
5 Families slot by Red Tiger takes us into the underworld of organized crime, a theme which not too many games have been based upon. Novomatic's famous old game Chicago is possibly the most renowned, Netent's card-based Kings of Chicago was popular too but the best graphics-wise must have been Betsoft's The Slotfather 2. Here we have the velvety background of a private club, Jazz music of course and all the symbols you would expect of this criminal world. So will it be happy families for our bankroll or the horse's head?
On The Reels...
We have 10 pay lines on 5 Families slot with symbols appearing both single and stacked. There are no Wilds or scatters though and the 5-of-a-kind pays are: 20x Godfather, 15x Blue Suit, 10x Purple Suit, 8x Green Suit, 6x White Shirt, 2.5x Briefcase, 2x Chips, 1.5x Whiskey and 1x Newspaper. That's pretty much everything, so let's hope we have a feature to make up for it!
VIP Room
This forms our plush background and to get a better look, we need 5 consecutive wins to enter. You will see a revolver above the grid and every consecutive win puts a bullet in the chamber. So 5 consecutive wins and we're in, a rather odd revolver here which doesn't have space for a sixth bullet! Now the chamber is full, we get minus one bullet for every losing spin and plus one for each win and the wins are all paid at 5x multiplier until we empty our chamber of bullets.
Our View...
5 Families slot is quite imaginative but pretty dreary otherwise as is the 95.71% RTP. The base game cannot seem to pay much and the 5x VIP spins take an age to trigger. When they do you can theoretically get multiple lines of the top pay at 100x each, but I bet you don't. The result would be unusual if you exceeded 100x for the whole time you are in the VIP lounge. Let's just say 'protection racket' just about sums this game up...
