Ted Megaways slot review
Ted Megaways slot by Blueprint Gaming is based on the old film Ted as are the other two editions from this developer, Ted slot and of course the sequel which was based on the old AWP games, Ted Pub Fruity slot. Blueprint do like their licensed themes and made a pretty good game when they produced Rick and Morty Megaways slot too. Here we have the classic old Ted and his flatulent and potty-mouthed outbursts although due to the UKGC it seems these have been toned down and are alas now pretty banal in nature! So will it be dope or the rope for our bankroll here?
On The Reels...
We get 2-7 rows each reel with a scrolling line of 4 individual tiles above the centre 4 reels thus giving us 324-117647-ways per spin on Ted Megaways slot. The 6-of-a-kind pays are 50x bet Ted Logo, Cola Bottles 5x, Girl 2.5x, Duck 2x and six card values paying 1.5 or 1x for a full way of 6. Winning symbols can be stacked and single, being removed and replaced from above and Ted Wilds can only appear on the scrolling reel above the grid, whereas the Thunder Buddies scatter appears on all of the lower reels.
As with the original Ted slot, we get an occasional awakening of Ted who may appear with his zap gun and add up to 99 Lightning Bolt tiles to the spinning reels which all reveal the same standard symbol when landing, usually producing a win.
You can purchase these for 150x bet in some jurisdictions but otherwise you need 4 Thunder Buddies scatters anywhere in view. This awards 12 free games with any scatters over the 4 giving 5 extras. You get an increasing multiplier for each winning cascade during them but will also be able to earn +2 spins and an increase in the minimum ways in play. Every time you collect 3 Bears in the top scrolling row, you earn more spins plus your minimum number of ways increases. It begins at 1000, then the first 3 Bears increase it to 2000, then 5,000, 10000, 20000, 50000 and finally if you're very fortunate, your remaining spins could be played on the maximum 117649 ways! If you purchase the feature, you get a wheel which offers various permutations of spins and minimum starting ways so you could get more spins and higher starting ways but also less!
Ted Megaways slot is pretty meh to be honest. Ted's interjections get rapidly boring and despite the reasonable 96.03% RTP the game is nothing but a clone of Return of Kong Megaways so Blueprint have put little effort into this. It's not a bad mechanic for a Megaways slot and the feature can be lucrative as can the mystery symbols in the base game, but it's all looking very tired now. I say a repeat of the movie and a box of popcorn is preferable to yet another Blueprint slot repeat...
