Barry The Disco Leprechaun slot review

barry the disco leprechaun slot gameBarry The Disco Leprechaun slot by Leander Games has a terrible theme, dreadful soundtrack and irritating animations to boot and this becomes apparent as soon as you open the slot and see the animated sequences. Having got that out of the way I can only say that the humour of this game is great and it's annoyingly fun to play too. The backdrop is a 1970's Night Fever-style dance floor with glitter balls over it and light squares under and naturally your controls are the turntable which supplies the awful music as you play. Barry gyrates on the left of the reels like a little green Travolta and is not the first leprechaun to appear in a odd environment as Play'n Go did Leprechaun Goes Egypt a while back and if you really like the theme there's Netent's Disco Spins and of course their Funky Seventies game too.  So, can Barry make our bankroll boogie?

On The Reels...

You pay 30 coins to spin Barry The Disco Leprechaun slot so get 30 fixed pay lines too. The 5-of-a-kind wins aren't too high with the best being Shamrocks at 200 coins, the Vinyl Single or Champagne Glasses or Pink Platform shoes all at 80, Aces at 40 with four lower card values all at 20 for a full line. Symbols can appear stacked as well as singly and you get a Wild Pot of Gold on all reels. Scatters are in the form of Stars and also appear on all reels and there are no modifiers, but fear not there a few features here to get you dancing!

Wild Respins will occur as they do with Netent's Starburst because the Wild here expands and becomes a Drama Reel, in other words it remains in place for a free respin and pays any wins, respinning again if a further Wild appears and so-on. You also get a respin of the other 3 reels if only two scatters land which may trigger the main feature here.

Free Games

Having got the 3 scatters you get a sequence of Barry driving to a new club and will see a 60-second timer with 6 coloured columns. Into these, different notes will fall and you need to click the column before they reach the bottom and disappear. Stars will also fall and each awards a free game but don't fret, you can ignore this get the amount of spins you would have received anyway which is at least 10. You don't get a retrigger, but Disco Balls can appear for an extra spin plus the reels seem to be enhanced and some decent totals are possible, but it can also pay badly! And Barry gets to choose a new club on a map after them.

Our View...

Barry The Disco Leprechaun slot is so bad it is good, as you may think if you decide to play it. You have a good 96.26% RTP and you can also mute the terrible music if Disco is not your kind of thing, but I think this would be a mistake as it would detract from the humour inherent here. The game isn't volatile at all with limited win potential but you'll certainly get some turnover for your money here and the scatters respins or Wild respins are frequent in the base game, with the main bonus being quite fun too. I am rather surprised to say I may yet revisit Barry and strut my stuff here again...
