The theme of the game is based on the Battle of Thermopylae, which has been portrayed in a comic series by Frank Miller and more recently a film starring Gerard Butler and Dominic West. The extreme volatility of 300 Shields can be attributed to bonus round that has the potential to deliver some huge wins. This is triggered by landing 3 or more scattered shields on the reels. You are initially awarded 5 free spins with a 2x multiplier. This increases if you land further shields on the reels, so 2 shields will give you 5 more free spins at 5x and 6 shields adds 5 more spins at 25x and if you get 12 shields then you will add a further 5 free spins with a staggering 300x! Obviously this is very difficult to achieve, but it does happen.
