The pays are highest for clusters of 30+ and lowest 5 and these are: Eye 500/3x, Purple Crown 250/1.5x, Flame 150/1x, Green gem 75/0.5x with four card suits at either 25/0.15 or 15/0.1x. Wilds can appear to help us and when used in a winning cluster they create an Ice Frame in which any further Wilds landing will increment in multiplier up to an 8x maximum, the highest only counting if two are in a single cluster. Bonuses are triggered progressively by counting winning tiles in the Ice Crystal Charger on the left and naturally the Ice Dragon on the right can add a few modifiers randomly.
Freezing Features
At any time, the Ice Dragon can become active during a play and will award one of these:
Hailstorm - one symbol type is chosen randomly and 3 of them will have 5 random symbols adjacent to them either turned into Wilds or more usually simply removed but not counting towards the charger.
Avalanche - destroys 2 symbol types and deposits up to 7 Wilds in their place.
Blizzard - 7 symbols in a pattern selected and destroyed with up to 5 Wilds added in place of them.
Ice Crystal Charger
You need 20,40,60 and 80 symbols to trigger these progressive features below. After the fourth at 80 you get Overcharge and another 10 symbols will create 2 additional Ice Frames on the grid each time, helpful for the Wild multipliers necessary for big wins here.
Tail Lash - triggered at 20, transforms all high-pay tiles into the same one.
Ice Scorch - at 40, 3-6 random Wilds created.
Destruction - at 60, destroys all low-pays on the grid.
Dragon Blast - at 80, all Ice Frames transform into Wilds with all their multipliers active.
Overcharged - 90, 100 etc. will add 2 more Ice Frames.
We are informed that the win cap here is a possible 6,000x bet but in reality on these type of games anything over 2,000x will be rare.
Our View...
Legend of the Ice Dragon slot has a 96.205 RTP but can be lower in many casinos so caution is necessary as is reading the game files! The usual classy Play'n Go grid game with good sounds and animations but a little tedious waiting for the progressive features to trigger, so there are regular modifiers to keep the player on board. Your real objective is the continuation of the progressive Ice Charger to 90+ winning tiles and thus all bonuses activated in the same spin to rack up a big total. It's obvious when this will happen as you'll have many a Wild multiplier active and this will mean bigger clusters for higher pays. It is however, often disappointing having waited a while for it only to get 20-40x but that's high volatility. Icy indeed, but certainly not a legend in the making...
