Mayan Treasures slot summary
Gold masks, Mayan bracelets, butterflies, 10-through-Ace symbols, frogs - if they all sound familiar, it's because Bally have taken a well-trodden path to slots Nirvana, taking on the popular theme of the ancients.
The legendary developer's customary 5 reel, 40 payline system is in operation here, but so too, sadly, are Bally's simplistic graphics and standard jolly casino music. However, this is a Bally's joint, so if same-old same-old music is fine for you, you'll revel in the original use of Wilds.
Win 5 Free Spins and a 5x Multiplier
A standard Wild is used on the base game, and substitutes for all symbols other than the scatter. There are Free Games and Bonus scatters galore, and three of them on reels 2, 3 and 4 will trigger the Free Games bonus, where 5 free games are immediately awarded. Not only that, all wins get a 5x multiplier. As with other Bally slots, you'll be presented with a different set of reels for the bonus spins, where the scatters and Free Spins symbols disappear. However, on the reels are a series of Wilds carrying different multipliers (2x, 3x, Free Games Wilds) so the standard 'substitutes for any symbol' Wild doesn't apply here.
Look Out for the Free Game Wild on Reels 4 and 5
During the free games feature the regular Wild symbol appears on reel 1 only, the 2x Wild on reel 2 only, the 3x Wild on reel 3, and the Free Game Wild on reels 4 and 5. Get to those bonus spins and it could turn into a very lucrative night for you.

Will Mayan Treasures turn into cities of gold for you? Possibly. The use of Wilds is great, but if you're like me and enjoy something a bit more for your money, you may prefer the better graphics and animation of IGT's very own Mayan-themed slot called Mayan Riches. That is well worth taking a look at if you even remotely enjoyed this release.
