Action Ops Snow and Sable slot is created by Triple Edge Studios, an in-house Microgaming label. Now I have seldom seen a good slot from Microgaming themselves recently let alone the in-house developers who have hitherto made some pretty unremarkable slots such as Fortunium, Showdown Saloon and Romanov Riches but I have a feeling this one is a little better! The theme is a futuristic cartoon in the DC Comics style with the reels set over a city in future world and some pretty cool music and zapping sound effects as we play. The game is named after the two jumpsuit clad female heroines that feature on the reels, but are they able to be the guardians of our bankroll too?
On The Reels...
We begin our battle on Action Ops Snow and Sable slot with 10 paying lines over 5 reels of 3 rows. Single symbols only are present with the exception of Snow and Sable who play the role of stacked Wilds and give us our best 5-of-a-kind award at 100x our 10-coin bet, and they can also pay 50x if mixed. After these two, we have the Vehicle at 25x, Robot Ladybird 12x, Glasses 8x, Wrist Gadget 6x with four card values at either 3 or 2.5x for a full line. The pays therefore are as high as befits a game with only 10 lines, but what action can Snow and Sable deliver in the absence of any random in-play events?

Okay, that's not what Microgaming call them but quite appropriate when we see the extra fighting capability Snow and Sable can bring to our bonus here. If we see 3 or more game logo scatters in view we shall be awarded 10, 15 or 20 free spins for 3, 4 or 5 respectively. Snow and Sable now become sticky stacked Wilds on reels 1 and 5, very much like the Wild reels in Microgaming's Bust The Bank slot which I think it's safe to assume has been recreated here! You get 5 extra spins for 2 further scatters or a retrigger of 10 if landing them on all 3 reels in play. Snow and Sable change every spin too, if any one of them fills both Wild reels you hear them shout their own name as a Wild line with the same one pays double the mixed. You usually get a good return here and it's fun to watch.
Our View...
Action Ops Snow and Sable slot may have emulated an existing Microgaming idea and transposed it to a 10-line format, but it works. It's not the most adult theme you will ever see but it's good nevertheless with some good visuals and animations. Sure, you have a possible 1000x for a full screen of the same Wild stacks but unless you get very lucky in the free games you'll not see it - this isn't too much of a concern as the free spins are quite regular and pay a reasonable sum along with frequent extra spins too. Your RTP sits at just over 96% so you can be confident the SAS here aren't going to take you out too quickly...
