Mega Moolah Absolootly Mad slot

Mega Moolah Absolootly Mad slot review

mega moolah absolootly mad slot gameMega Moolah Absolootly Mad slot by Microgaming was created by one of their smaller in-house developers, Triple Edge Studios. Most of you will have heard of their original Mega Moolah slot with a wildlife theme and progressive jackpots. This time we get a slightly juvenile Alice in Wonderland theme and silly noises and music as we play and a dark background featuring items from this famous children's story. We've just had Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah too and prior to that the classic White Rabbit from BTG so this topic seems to provide a steady source of inspiration for developers. Will we add some loot to our bankroll here, or end up hopping mad?

On The Reels...

We get 243-ways to win here which naturally means 5 reels of 3-rows each on Mega Moolah Absolootly Mad slot. Symbols are single and you get tumbling reels which means winning symbols are removed for new ones to cascade in from above to replace them. You also see an increasing multiplier for each tumble in the same spin, up to a maximum of 5x. Gold Hat Wilds can appear on the centre 3 reels in the form of gold tokens and each one you accrue during any spin is saved in to the pot above the reels - the more you save, the more chance you have of triggering the Progressive Wheel!

The progressive jackpots are seeded at 10.00 for the Mini, 100.00 for the Minor, 10,000.00 for the Major and 1,000,000.00 for the Mega. The base game pays for 5-of-a-kind are 10x for the Hatter, 5x Cat Jelly, 4x Rabbit Cake, 3.5x Butterfly Cake, 3x Teacups, 2.5x Watch and 2.4 down to 0.8x for the four card suits. Door scatters can appear on all reels and you need 3 or more to trigger the bonus round with the good news that Wilds also substitute for the scatters!

Free Games

So having landed the 3 or more Door scatters, you get 8 free games which can be retriggered. Your enhancement is tripled multipliers from those active in the base game, so your initial win is paid at 3x, the second tumble is 6x, the third tumble 9x and the fourth onward will pay at 15x. Despite these multipliers, the volatility is only medium and you'll be lucky to see over 100x bet in the feature.

Our View...

Mega Moolah Absolootly Mad slot is not really an improvement over the original Mega Moolah although I do slightly prefer the better graphics and animations here, plus the 243-way format. The free spins don't really pay much and there's not great scope for large base game hits either. The real let-down is exactly the same as for the original - the dreadful RTP inclusive of jackpots is nearly as bad, in this case 92.02%. This means your house edge here is doubled over most slots you play which will be around the 96% mark. Doubling the house edge results in the player getting about half the play time for their money on average. For that reason alone, I'd be mad to put any of my loot into this slot...
