Everything about Teddy Bear's Picnic is wrapped up in cotton wool. On the reels we get picnic baskets, teacups, lickle baby koalas, cakes, honeycomb and, of course, the teddy bears. The honeycomb acts as the Wild, and it substitutes for all symbols other than the Scatter. Watch out for the animated teddy bear who launches himself at random on the side of the reels, tossing extra Wilds onto the screen. He seems to pop up quite often, making that single Wild into a double, and increasing your wins substantially as a result.
Three or more picnic basket Scatters anywhere on the reels triggers the free spins round, whereby you'll be awarded 8 freebies. That's not all, though; these are Sticky Honey Free Games, so if a Wild hits during the free spins it will stay in place for the duration of your free spins. Our teddy friend can also crop up to chuck extra Wilds onto the reels as in the base game. I found the free spins to be fairly lucrative, with lots of extra Scatters and Wilds appearing during the bonus games.
For low-end action and summery fun, this is absolutely fine. Care Bears mov... sorry, Teddy Bear's Picnic will hardly set the action junkies' hearts alight, but then adrenaline-seeking isn't for everyone. It's good for some nicely done animation, and the Wilds and Scatters can prove fruitful if you get lucky. It's hard to find a cuter slot around, but Skill on Net's bright and summery slot, The Bees Buzz, is a worthy alternative to this, as is Microgaming's summery bee-themed online slot, Pollen Nation. Both are worth checking out.
