Jade Tiger slot makes a refreshing change from formulaic 30 payline Ainsworth slots. With their usual Oriental theme and stacked Wilds on last three reels such as Jade Emperor and Dragon Lines. Here we have 30 pay lines, an Oriental theme and stacked Wilds on the last FOUR reels! Gee, thanks Ainsworth. At least it's slightly different then as we hear the typical trotting reels set against an ornamental Jade background, but will this Tiger prove to be a danger to our bankroll?
Yes, 30 pay lines indeed over the usual 5 reels of 3 rows each and stacked Tiger Wilds on the last four of them. The symbols pay typically little for 5-of-a-kinds aside from the Jade Disc scatters at 50x bet if you see all five. You pay 30 coins and will see 200 for the Goldfish and Ornamental Fruit, 75 for the Golden Seeds, Turtle and Vase with the six card values all awarding 50 coins for the full line. As usual there is a free spins round with a twist.
If 3 or more Jade Disc scatters appear you are given 10 free games with different reels but you can still retrigger them although only 5 are given. Tiger Wilds still appear stacked but we have the little 'Lucky Boy' added to reels 1 and 5. When they both appear you get one extra spin played immediately and during this you will have stacked Tiger Wilds sticky on reels 1 and 5 while the middle 3 spin. Naturally Ainsworth have removed the Stacked Tigers from the middle 3 reels for this spin so effectively you get one spin similar to the bonus in Microgaming's Bust The Bank slot. At least the pays remain the same which is often not the case with Ainsworth slots where you have Wild enhancements/multipliers in the free games.
Jade Tiger slot is unfortunately symptomatic of a developer that uses the same mechanic and math model for virtually all their games. Similar 94.20% RTP, same amount of pay lines and a slight tweak to the free spins bonus being the only real difference to any other one you play. It really is a case of 'if you've seen one, you've seen 'em all'. The graphics and effects are pretty mundane and the sounds are starting to get tiring now; yes, other developers like Novomatic and EGT have standardized sounds but at least over very different games. Due to the dreadfully low volatility and win frequency you'll get some gameplay for your Dollar but unfortunately this Tiger only whimpered at me...
