Doctor Love on Vacation slot summary
Influenced by the "classic" (inverted commas dependent on your view of both the films, and the term, 'classic') saucy British Carry On comedies of the 1960s, NextGen Gaming's Doctor Love slot was full of coiffured doctors, nubile nurses and enough nudge-nudges to placate a legion of Brit-com fans. The game was good in a simple, innocent kind of way, with a good range of betting, lots of free spins and a nice 3x multiplier on bonus wins.

Doctor Love on Vacation is - as you can probably tell from the title - the 5 reel, 20 pay-line sequel and the same themes are present and correct, including our pearly-white smile doc who's heading to the beach on holiday.
On the 5 reels there are tons of holiday-themed icons: a surfboard, hula girl, a sunburnt holidaymaker, an airplane, a beachball, a suitcase, a deckchair, stethoscope, and cocktail glass, plus a 'Get Well Soon' garland.

Our cheesy doctor - all permatan and pearly whites - is the Wild, substituting for all regular symbols in the game other than the Scatters. Winning combos formed by our coiffured medical practitioner also pay double.

The Scatter is the doctor's surfboard: three or more of those across the reels triggers a free spins round where (depending on how many Scatters you hit to activate the round) 4, 8 or 12 spins are up for grabs. A maximum of 12 spins doesn't sound too clever - particularly when you consider the prequel carried a maximum of 20 spins - but when you consider there's a 3x multiplier on wins it suddenly sounds much better. Spins can be re-triggered as well.
Our View...
If you liked the original slot you'll probably get a kick out of Doctor Love on Vacation, but other than the different symbols there's barely any difference in tone or gameplay between this and Doctor Love.
Much better, then, to grab the towel and the bucket 'n' spade and head for Playtech's summer-themed Beach Life slot - it's packed with color and special features and really puts you in the holiday mood.
