Reign of the Mountain King slot from Nextgen is a rare release now this developer is under the Scientific Games umbrella. Not normally known for high-potential volatile games aside from the brilliant Medusa 2 slot and its later manifestation as Medusa Megaways slot, this could be a refreshing change from the norm. Single symbols and 10 pay lines over 5 reels of 3 rows start our visit to Reign of the Mountain King slot. The 5-of-a-kind pays are 20x bet for Mountain King Wild or Princess, 12x red Troll, 8x Shield, 6x Axe and six card values of 5, 4 or 2x for any full lines. There's no scatter as the Wild is our feature trigger here but we do get a multiplier modifier. If a single Mountain King Wild forms part of a 4 or 5OAK win, then it may be given a random multiplier of 5,8,64 or 512x.
Mountain King Re-spins
If you land the Mountain King Wild on all 3 middle reels, this feature triggers. The Wilds become sticky and a re-spin is awarded. Further Wilds landing will also become sticky and you only get one chance to add to your win each time before the feature ends. You will now see a Pink Gem overlaid on some symbols which is collected and itself will also continue the re-spins. If you can collect 3 then a multiplier of 2x is applied to the sticky Wilds but only those situated on the centre 3 reels. Collect another 3 Gems, this goes to 3x, then 5x and the maximum of 8x. This means a 512x multiplier (8x8x8) is the top that can be achieved and the round is capped at 10,000x bet.

Reign of the Mountain King slot has a 96.00% RTP and visually is an excellent slot, with nice graphics and great music. The base game doesn't award many big wins unless you fluke a big multiplier on the 4 or 5OAK wins containing a single Wild. The feature does come in quite often though but that's a double-edge sword. It can simply give just the one re-spin with nothing coming in at all, Gems or Wilds and be over in a flash. You are also better off getting 2 or preferably all 3 triggering Wilds in a pay line for obvious reasons, hoping for the multipliers to then be attained in the re-spins to have a decent chance at those 4-figure wins. This mountain rules tends to spend a lot of his time asleep, but when he awakens with a vengeance it could be a good day for you...
